Episode 27: Nick Bell (WME), Melbourne, Australia
By Kevin Daum, Contributor
YPO member Nick Bell started WME with AUD400 dollars in his bank account in 2008. He spent AUD250 dollars to get his website built in Vietnam. At the office, he started cold calling companies to get them interested in SEO. At home, he furnished his room with furniture he found in hard rubbish collections on the street. Life was sparse but focused for the 27-year-old.
Today, Bell heads the largest digital marketing agency in Australia, and WME has gone international with more than AUD55 million dollars in revenue and 650 employees worldwide. Beyond Australia, they have customers in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, New Zealand and the United States — and are heading into South America. In this episode, Bell shares the entrepreneurial lessons he learned going from AUD400 dollars to an international success.
