In 1980, YPO member Dinesh Dhamija and his wife, Tani, started selling travel tickets from a kiosk in Earl’s Court tube station in London, United Kingdom. Three years later, the kiosk developed into Flightbookers, a travel agency with three locations. The company grew rapidly and soon was known across Europe with offices in 12 countries.
In 1996, Dhamija began raising funds for Ebookers.com, the first interactive online travel agency in the United Kingdon. Within a few years, it became one of Europe’s leading travel agencies. In 2005, he sold Ebookers for GBP209 million.
