Episode 36: Diego Jimenez (Grupo Freixenet), Barcelona, Spain

YPO member Diego Jimenez is the COO of Freixenet Group in Spain. Officially, he is curator of the Freixenet business in the Spanish market, managing all of the Freixenet Group’s brands, including 22 wineries on three different continents. Unofficially, he’s the Chief Celebration Officer of one of the world’s major producers of Spanish cava.

Jimenez grew up in the business, starting in the Sales and Marketing department in 1994. By 1997, he was the Managing Director of Freixenet USA, where he was increased Gloria Ferrer’s business by more than 20 percent. Before moving back to Spain in 2014, Jimenez spent his time developing key strategies and making investments of Freixenet in La Rioja, Argentina, as well as running Wingara Wine Group, the Australian subsidiary of Freixenet. In this episode, Jimenez shares his approach in preserving a heritage brand while preparing for the future.
