Episode 63: Elikem Tamaklo (Nyaho Medical Centre), Accra, Ghana

Nearly 50 years ago, Kwami Nyaho Tamaklo, M.D. founded Nyaho Medical Centre in Accra, Ghana, pioneering modern healthcare. His wife, Janet Tamaklo, took over in 2001 to continue the mission.

Inspired by his parents, YPO member Elikem Tamaklo received his medical training in the United Kingdom, earning a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London, and a diploma in tropical medicine and hygiene from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Today, Elikem is the Managing Director of the growing Nyaho Medical Centre, which now has 250 full time employees, nearly 50 specialists, and serves 90,000 patients every year.
